THE TEXAN WAY
In the 1700s Spanish cattle were introduced to the East Texas Region, marking the beginning of a lasting cattle ranching industry. The Texan cowboy was born, with him the mustang, the lasso and the rodeo. Once a Little Ranch on the Hills “El Ranchito de las Colinas”, the land was developed in the 1970s into a major business hub. In the center of the development the Mustangs of Las Colinas sculpture captures and celebrates the free spirit and lifestyle of Texas.
At the turn of the century, the stylish women of Dallas were flocking to Paris and London to pay visits to the finest dressmakers and fabric purveyors. There was something about cotton in tones inspired by Texas Topaz, the Texan cactus rose, handmade lace and cool, slick satin that inspired them to look and feel their best.
